Earlier this month Wyevale Garden Centre, Northampton announced its Christmas events. We were lucky enough to experience their festive lunch which they are providing in their restaurants. It is the perfect way to catch up with friends this festive season AND you can bring the children along as Santa is in town!
Their festive menus range from:
- Adult’s 2 courses – £14.95
- Adult’s 3 courses – £16.95
- Kid’s 1 course – £6.50
- Kid’s 2 course – £8.00
So what’s up for grabs?
For starters, we went for the Crispy camembert served with cranberry relish and salad garnish which was a melt in the middle winter warmer. This is a lovely treat for a starter and went down really well especially with the cranberry relish.
We also went for a prawn cocktail which was served in a retro cocktail glass, full of prawns and salad which was super filling and tasty.
For mains, it had to be a traditional Christmas roast which on a Sunday trip the garden centre is a must. The roast is freshly cooked with melt in the mouth meats from Beef to Turkey. Each meal comes with a huge assortment of fresh vegetables and is a huge plate!
You can have either 2 courses or 3. We opted for three where we were lucky enough to try the rhubarb and ginger cheesecake and the chocolate orange tart. We very full from our main and starters but the deserts were super sweet and very christmassy. These were fresh, tasty and quite unique in flavour. A credit to the cook for finishing on such a great note.
The staff are lovely and attentive in the restaurant and there’s plenty of choice for everyone.
Lastly, it’s of course the best place in town to bring your little ones to visit Santa and start the festive season. The Santa’s Grotto is open in the garden centre with Father Christmas ready to take all of those Christmas wishes. He may even have a little gift for your children which will be the perfect way to learn about Christmas traditions!
You can book on to see Santa here, tickets are available throughout December but it’s advised to book ahead as the staff have noted how busy it’s been already!
So, the adults can enjoy a relaxed lunch in the restaurant and the kids can visit Santa! What more could you want?
