Cynthia Spencer Hospice wins the Charity of the Year award 2018

Cynthia Spencer hospice Northampton Life

Northampton based charity, Cynthia Spencer Hospice has won the award for Charity of the Year 2018. The award, which is sponsored by our magazine Jackson Grundy Estate agents, onefoursix and GPW Consulting was held in July for the public to find and vote for their winning charity.

With over 1000 votes in total, the award process was all about drumming up the community spirit. The public nominated lots of amazing charities across the county with the winner being found as the hospice which has recently celebrated it’s 40th anniversary.

The hospice provides a range of services from inpatient & outpatient care. They have hospice at home services, lymphoedema and palliative care specialist services. There are two specialist Consultants in palliative medicine, a team of doctors and specialist nurses working within the Hospice and the community.

They are constantly working to create a range of services and expand them to provide further facilities and use for their patients. Fundraising is a vital part of the hospice’s growth and maintenance. Northampton Life Magazine were lucky enough to have a tour of the facilities which are well looked after by a wonderful team. The woodland area is a serine place to enjoy fresh air, a maintained garden and relaxing space.

Victoria Garratt, Marketing Manager of the hospice has said: “On behalf of our wonderful team at the Hospice from the doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants through to the hotel services staff and volunteers who care for our patients and support their families both in the Hospice and throughout the county every day, we’d like to thank the people of Northampton for naming us their Charity of the Year in Northampton Life magazine. Knowing what a huge place the Hospice holds in the hearts of the community we serve is a great honour to us and we are, as ever, grateful for their ongoing support in helping us to be there for patients and families throughout Northamptonshire when they need us most”
