Fawsley Hall, a historic royal manor nestled in the Northamptonshire countryside that once hosted Queen Elizabeth I, has added another prestigious accolade to its name – a third AA Rosette for culinary excellence.

The hotel’s Cedar Restaurant is now a 3 AA Rosette restaurant in recognition of its outstanding modern British fine dining.
AA Rosettes are awarded by a team of highly experienced inspectors who assess restaurants nationwide. Establishments with 3 Rosettes have reached a standard of culinary excellence that demands national recognition. Their cooking showcases the finest quality ingredients, treated with skill and creativity. Achieving this award is a significant accomplishment – restaurants with 3, 4 or 5 Rosettes make up only the top 10% of all those holding AA Rosettes.
Head Chef Joe Gould places provenance at the heart of his kitchen, sourcing produce from trusted local suppliers and adapting menus with the seasons.
Located in Northamptonshire’s picturesque countryside, just outside the market town of Daventry, the historic estate offers an intimate Tudor-era dining space, where guests can enjoy quintessential British dishes enhanced with a contemporary twist.
The estate’s formal gardens and parkland were designed by the renowned 18th century landscape architect Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown – celebrated for creating sweeping lawns and serpentine lakes that mimic nature, moving away from the formal geometry of earlier garden design.
Fawsley Hall is now the second hotel in the group to achieve 3 Rosettes, following Rookery Hall, in Cheshire. The group’s Crathorne Hall Hotel, a magnificent Edwardian mansion on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, was also recently awarded a second Rosette.
The AA Hospitality Awards are among the most prestigious in the industry, covering 15 categories and celebrating the UK’s top hotels, restaurants, pubs, and the talented individuals behind them.
