SK Energy of Wellingborough is celebrating after winning at the inaugural Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce awards.
The company, which acts as an independent energy broker, won the Customer Commitment Award after demonstrating to judges that it managed to save its customers more than £750,000 on their energy costs and had a 100% client retention rate thanks to its unique approach to customer service.
SK Energy has also been announced as finalists at the Northamptonshire SME Awards in the categories of Best Customer Service, Service Excellence and Business of the Year Less than 50 Employees.
Reemesh Patel, Managing Consultant at SK Energy, said: “We really didn’t expect to win this and were genuinely shocked and humbled on the night. When we set up SK Energy we knew that the energy industry had a bad reputation and made a conscious effort to stand out. We wanted to create a business that was based upon honesty and going above and beyond for each of our customers regardless of company size. We wanted to exceed all expectations and make a difference to every one of our clients so to win this particular category of Customer Commitment means a lot to us.
“We have saved over £750K for our clients since we started the business in April 2017 and are on track to smash the £1 million mark by the end of the year. The judges have since told us that it was a very tough decision but we stood out for the savings we had made, for not losing any clients in a very difficult industry and our passion for customer service shone through.”
SK Energy now plans to add to its team, only recruiting people who share their vision when it comes to honesty and customer service. It also intends to expand into the domestic energy market to help a wider client base.
“The entire team would like to thank our customers, suppliers and peers for their ongoing support. Without this we wouldn’t have a business,” adds Reemesh. “We promise to keep striving forward and above everything else help take the headache out of energy for all concerned by doing things our way – The SK Way.”
