Halloween Haunt Chapter 3 heads up a month of spook-tastic fun at Wicksteed Park this October

Halloween Haunt’s unique family-friendly scare attraction is returning to Wicksteed Park this October, heading up a spook-tacular line-up of rides and things to see and do.

In partnership with Halloween House Entertainment, Halloween Haunt will be back with Chapter 3: The Legends, including two fantastic family friendly spooky walkthroughs in one, included in the price of a wristband.

The attraction is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Steve and Kat Richardson, who have become known as Mr and Mrs Halloween due to their vast Halloween collection and who fittingly live in the original Cemetery House in Rushden.

They are believed to have the country’s largest hoard of Halloween collectibles, props, and animatronics, totalling around 2,000 items, which they have amassed over more than ten years.

Halloween Haunt is thought to be the only family-friendly interactive Halloween walkthrough in the UK and will run at the park for October weekends from October 10th and throughout half-term.

The 200ft interactive walkthrough features wicked witches, spooky skeletons , creepy ghosts and a condemned zombie laboratory as well as favourites such as a 10-foot animatronic reaper, vampires, werewolves and spiders.

This year’s Legends theme also features traditional Hallowe’en monsters, vampires, skeletons, ghosts and special guests like Frankenstein and the Mummy, as well as extra jump scares.

As well as the main walkthrough, which is fully wheelchair accessible,  Halloween Haunt will also feature information boards about the legends of Halloween, a mini walkthrough for the younger members of the family and I-Spy games for children and adults.

All Wicksteed Park’s ride areas and attractions are open for the first weekend in October, giving people one last chance to enjoy them all in 2026, with on-day wristbands purchased at the park costing £22, to match the online price.

Then from 10:30am till 4pm on October 10, 11, 17 and 18 and throughout half-term wristbands are £16 for children under 16 and £10 for adults.

In addition to Halloween Haunt, the attractions open will be Astroslide, Treetop Walk, Rocking Tug, Clown Coaster, Wicky’s Mini Farmyard, Pig N Putt, Roundabout, Cups and Saucers, Lighthouse, Carousel, Sway Rider and Wicksteed Railway.

Children under 0.9m get to experience the joy of Halloween at Wicksteed Park for free with an accompanying paying adult.

During half-term, the park kicks off the first weekend with the Halloween Craft and Readers Fair and there’s extra family fun in with Zoolab’s fang-tastic Spooky Potions Show in the Wicky Bear Theatre, also included in the price of your wristband.

Oktoberfest is also coming back to Wicksteed Park from 7.30pm on Saturday October 3.

Enjoy entertainment from the Bavarian themed The Oomparty Band, sing-a-longs and games followed by a disco to keep the party going, with German food and drinks available to purchase on the night.

Wicksteed Park combines a 281-acre estate including 147 acres of beautiful parkland with more than 25 rides and attractions for all the family.

It was opened in 1921 by Charles Wicksteed, the creator of swings and slides as we know them today, who had a vision to inspire and encourage play as part of families’ health and wellbeing.

The Wicksteed Charitable Trust was formed to ensure his work continued after his death and the park has become known as the home of children’s play.

The park has been praised for providing a highly enjoyable and memorable family day out in an assessment by national tourist board VisitEngland.

Awarding the Kettering park a score of 84%, VisitEngland said the attraction remains a well-established and much-loved visitor attraction, offering an excellent balance of traditional family entertainment, expansive green space, and historical significance.
