Northampton Town Council is inviting residents to discover the incredible range of community organisations making a difference across the town when it hosts the Community Marquee for the fourth year running at this year’s Northampton Balloon Festival.
In place throughout the popular family event, the Community Marquee will provide a vibrant space where charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and local initiatives can meet visitors, showcase their work and inspire more people to get involved in activities that strengthen communities across Northampton.
From health and wellbeing organisations to cultural groups, sports clubs, youth projects and charities, the showcase will celebrate the diversity of organisations that work tirelessly to support residents every day.
The Community Marquee, open from 12pm to 6pm every day of the event, is part of the Town Council’s ongoing commitment to building stronger communities by helping local organisations raise awareness, connect with new volunteers and supporters, and demonstrate the positive impact they have across Northampton.
Mayor of Northampton, Cllr Mike Hallam, said: “The Northampton Balloon Festival is one of the highlights of our town’s calendar, bringing together thousands of people for a fantastic weekend of entertainment. We’re delighted that the Town Council is delivering the Community Marquee, giving local organisations the opportunity to showcase the amazing work they do.
“This town is home to an extraordinary range of community groups, charities and voluntary organisations, many of which quietly make a huge difference to people’s lives every single day. The Community Marquee is a chance to shine a spotlight on that work and help residents discover the support, activities and opportunities available right on their doorstep.”
The Northampton Balloon Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year, with spectacular hot air balloon displays, live entertainment, family activities and food and drink stalls making it one of the county’s biggest annual events.
Leader of Northampton Town Council, Cllr Les Marriott, said: “Whether you’re looking to volunteer, find a new hobby, access support or simply learn more about what’s happening in your local community, I would encourage everyone visiting the festival to spend some time in the Community Marquee. Together, we can celebrate the people and organisations that make Northampton such a welcoming and vibrant place to live.”
Northampton Town Council proudly sponsor and support Northampton Balloon Festival as part of their annual events calendar.
